National Museum of Marine Science and Technology (NMMST) is located in the east of Keelung, near Badozhi, Bisha Harbour Live Seafood Market and scenic attractions in the northeast coast of Taiwan. NMMST is a marine educational and recreational park devoted in maintaining the sustainable development of the ocean. They are creating an exhibitive, educational, and recreational environment for schools and the public. Dedicated in preserving the natural surroundings, NMMST is promoting the importance of “Embrace the Ocean, Appreciate the Ocean and Sustain the Ocean.”

National Museum of Marine Science and Technology is built and remodel from the old thermal power plant. After the retiring from production, the structure of the plant was designed and facilitated to meet the requirement of a museum by connecting to the natural habitat within perimeter.
NMMST has so much to offer, The Exhibits, IMAX Theater, Regional Exploration Building, Coastal Ecology Exploration Area, and Sceneries around NMMST. The exhibition is divided into 9 galleries, which are “Marine Environment Gallery”, “Marine Science Gallery”, “Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering Gallery”, “Fishery Science Gallery”, “People and the Sea Gallery”, “Wonders of the Deep Sea Gallery”, “Deep Sea Theater”, “Kid’s Exploration Zone” and “Regional Exploration Gallery”. Exploring the ocean from different perspective to educate the people the importance of sustaining what we have left. The Regional Exploration building focused more on the local history and present events with artifacts in display. The IMAX 3-D Theater provides different movie on regular basis. The films are related to the ocean for education purpose.

The sceneries and facilities around the museum are also great visits like the Badouzi Park, Ocean Research Center, Ecological Restoration Park, and Bisha Harbour Live Seafood Market. Great places to admire the sunset and natural views around northeast coast, or catch the freshest seafood from the market to appreciate what the ocean provides.
