National Museum of History is located in Nanhai Academy next to Botanical Garden. Located on Nanhai Rd., It was established in 1955, and the architecture is in the style of Ming and Qing Dynasties’ palace building. National Museum of History offers regular exhibition of oracle-bone-script, bronzes, jades, porcelains and history documents. The historic collection is covered the Neolithic period, the ancient Chinese dynasties, and the contemporary era. It is a place for appreciating history and culture progress and lifetime learning.

Originally called “National Museum of Historical Artifacts and Fine Arts”, after several times of renovation, the Museum has become a venue full with a variety of exhibitions. The collection of the National Museum of History covers artifacts and relics from mainland China, Taiwan, and other countries. In the future, the Museum expects to be the professional and multi-cultural provider in Taiwan. The diversity of exhibits and historic study publications are one of the mission of the Museum to share to the public.
