Located on Ketagalan Boulevard in Zhongzheng District, Taipei, the Presidential Office Building is the highest authority building of Taiwan.
The building was designed during Japanese-Occupied Periods by Japanese architect Uheiji Nagano. The style of the building is a combination of traditional European elements, including Baroque, Neo-Classical features, and Renaissance. It was finished in 1919, and functioned as the Governor-General’s Office.
During Taiwan National Day, one of the most important days of Taiwan, both honored dignitaries from all over the world and local and oversea visitors gather around the building to celebrate and show their respect for the nation. There will be grand routine celebrations in front of the Presidential Office Building as a tradition, beginning with the raising of the flag and national anthem followed by a military parade and a series of performances by local celebrities and groups. Visit the Presidential Office Building on Taiwan National Day to experience the local Taiwan festivity of the important day.
