Situated on Nanjing West Road of Shanghai City, Shanghai Jingan Temple is a famous historical site in China. Built in 247 A.D., Shanghai Jingan Temple was moved to its present site in 1216 A.D. The Shanghai Jingan Temple had been renovated several times since the Yuan Dynasty of China and had once been destroyed during the Taiping Rebellion. The current temple was rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. During the Cultural Revolution, Shanghai Jingan Temple used to be a plastic factory, but it was later converted back into a Buddhist temple in 1983. Currently, the Shanghai Jingan Temple is a very active temple in Shanghai City.

Shanghai Jingan Temple is reachable by taking the Shanghai Metro Line 2 to the Jingan Temple Station.
