The name Taibalang means crabs in Amis dialect. This tribe was named so due to the rich inhabitation of crabs.
The local adolescence had wished to prolong their tribal traditions and vital cultures, so recently they have been working on promoting weaving, folk songs, wildlife training, wood carvings etc.
Now, as a result, there are various traditional handicrafts and artifacts being put on display at Taibalang Cultural Hall, as well as the Taibalang Primary School. It is now a local indigenous cultural attraction.
