Penghu Attraction
Penghu County ─ Hujing Island

Hujing Island means “Tiger Well Island”, is 7 sea miles away from Magong City. The unique landscape of the island surrounded by the magnificent basalt cliffs especially on the east and west sides. During low tide, you will see the water is very clear. It is no wonder this island has been recognized as one of the eight most scenic spots in Penghu.
It is said that there is a sunken city on the seabed. During 17 century, the Dutch came here and built a fortress that later sank into the sea in the middle of a battle. The archaeologists who had come to explore the area in recent years have not find a trace of evidences, so the sunken city still remains as a mystery. Although such myth was never validated, the stunning scenery has drawn many visitors here all year long.
