Located in Bali, New Taipei City (Taipei County). Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology is a great conservational center for cultural artifacts unearthed at the Shihsanhang former site. The project began its constructions on the main buildings, outdoor plaza and car park in 2003 and completed, opened to the public in 2003. The establishment of museum was both by the efforts of central and Taipei County government. Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology serves as an archaeological museum and educational center for northern Taiwan which teaches people about the significance of this area.

Visitors are often attracted by the architectures of Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology. The distinctive architecture of Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology has been awarded the 2002 "Taiwan Architecture Prize" and 2003 “Far Eastern Architect Awards”. The structure of the museum is based on the ideas of archaeological excavation and the history of ancestors arrived Taiwan by sailing in boats across the ocean. The different areas of the architecture represent mountains, ocean, the past and present. The museum is built by concrete, sandstone and highly plastic titanium alloy.

Covering a large area with distinctive architectures, the museum has various exhibitions. The main exhibition starts with “Back to Shihsanhang”, having an exhibition area like a theatre that offers visitors items that unearthed at Shihsanhang site, which also displays the logo of the museum, the “Anthropomorphic Jar”. Other exhibitions include Discovering Shihsanhang; displaying the discovery of the site and significant archaeological principles. Rescuing Shihsanhang; showing how Shihsanhang was preserved. Exploring Shihsanhang; giving detailed historical information and geographical changes in Bali area. Moreover, at the Entering Shihsanhang, and Encountering Shihsanhang exhibitions, visitors may find the story of the daily life of Shihsanhang man and artifacts unearthed at the site. In addition, for children and students, they may enjoy recreational games and videos on computers. Overall, Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology is an excellent place for leisure and intellectual visits.
