Fonghuanggu Bird and Ecology Park is located at the foot of the mountain, Nantou County. The 32 hectares of Fonghuanggu Park is the biggest government funded bird and ecology park in Taiwan. For the educational purpose, you will find about 300 different species of birds and total of 3,000 birds in the park and was categorized to different sections. The park provides touring guide for visitors to learn the different species birds and plants, moreover all the bird cages are built along the path, so visitors can watch the birds while stroll around the park.

There are several emphases in the park such as the 10 thousand years old stone tablet, endemic bird garden, exotic bird garden and a waterfall. Located at an altitude of 650-850 meters above sea level, this park has splendid views of colorful sea of clouds and the surrounding dense forest. There are hiking trails nearby such as Fenghuang Shan Temple, Chilintan (Unicorn Lake) and Kaishan (Open Mountain) Temple. These attraction sties will be a perfect fit for a day trip.

Nat'l Hwy 3→ Exit at the Zhushan Interchange → Prov. Hwy 3 → County Hwy 151

Public
Take the train to Taichung Railway Station, continue by Yuanlin Bus (bound for Chiayi) to Zhushan. The take the Yuanlin Bus (bound for Bird Park) to the park.
