The Youth River (Shaonian Chi) scenic area has a cumulation of few magnificent scenic spots, such as the Youth Valley, Youth Waterfalls and the Gold Waterfalls. The unspoiled natural environment here is a paradise for the nature lovers.
The Shaonian Chi Hot Springs is located on one of the river branches of Laolong River, north of Taoyuan Village. The clear spring water is drinkable. Temperature is around 46 degree Fahrenheit. PH level is 7.5 with mild sodium carbonate. Currently, it is still being preserved in its original natural setting. Two natural outdoor pools have been built using stone pebbles by the local dwellers under the shady trees. The Taoyuan Community has plans to develop the area into a major tourist attraction.
From the hot spring, visitors can take a gradual hike up the slope for spectacular views of the five levels of the Youth waterfalls at different altitude.
