Located in Taibao City, Chiayi County, the National Palace Museum Southern Branch has been setting as an "Asian Arts and Culture Museum”, hoping to achieve cultural equity between the Northern and the Southern regions of Taiwan, and to drive the cultural, educational, social, and economic development in both regions.
With vast area, the Southern Branch Museum covers artificial wetlands, tropical gardens, waterfront arena, two artificial lakes, and other recreational areas. The Southern Branch Museum will feature main exhibitions that display artifacts from National Palace Museum’s rich collection of artifacts while supplementing them with international loan exhibitions. No to mention, the museum will plan a variety of awe-inspiring exhibitions to fulfill its duty as a museum for artifact collection, research, conservation, education, and exhibition as well as to introduce artifact-derived leisure and recreational activities, and engage in cultural and creative operations.

Individual visitors (groups of 9 or less) may purchase the tickets at Tickets & Multimedia Guide on weekdays. However, it is highly recommended that visitors make online reservations for visits on weekends and holidays to save time from queuing up for the tickets. To maintain premium visiting quality, groups of 10 or more shall make reservations in advance.

Directions:

Public Transportation:
Visitors can take the High Speed Rail or a regular train to Chiayi Station then transfer to a bus taking you to the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum. Travel time by bus is about 10 minutes.
