Phuket Aquarium is the main aquarium in Thailand and it's located near the southern tip of the island at Ao Makham on Panwa Cape. This aquarium is the major marine biological research station in Thailand and its do the research especially on commercial fishers, tropical reef ecosystems and other projects. In order to release the endangered species of sea turtles back into the sea, the aquarium devoted to breeds and hatches them hardly. There has a newly build 10 meter long underwater glass tunnel display over 50 species of fish, tourist can see over 100 creatures in the aquarium. The exhibition of underwater life including sandy beach, rocky shore, coral reef and mangrove habitats is displayed as beautiful as the natural environment in tanks. Although it's hard to spend more than one hour in the aquarium but you can have an experience to diving in the aquarium with the instructor. Kids and teens would like to have fun in the touch pool, visitor may have chance to touch sea cucumbers and sea stars to learn and understand more about these animals. It's easily getting Phuket Aquarium by taxi or tuk tuk car from Patong. The opening hour is from 08:30 to 16:00.
