Shuzhuang Garden, is once a Taiwan businessman's private villa, it became a garden park and open to the public in 1955. The park is divided into two gardens the Garden hiding the Sea and the other Garden of Making-Up Hills. Shuzhuan Garden was designed with three specific gardening elements. 1. The art of hiding. You will find that the ocean is hidden from view until you are nearly at the edge. 2. The art of combining movements. It is the positioning of the artwork into a slope. 3. The art of borrowing from one's surroundings. Using the natural slope toward the sea as a part of scene. The rock maze built on the slope of the hill is a wonderful art. It took a while to realize that hidden within the walls were images of the 12 animals from Chinese astrology. At the bottom are two exits. Here was a zigzag walkway crossing a pond with koi fish. This entire garden was great place to take a picture and leave a good memory.
