The Chinan Forest Recreation Area is set in a natural environment. At the center of this recreation area is The Forestry Exhibition Hall where the introductions and photographs here richly present their topic and provide an excellent history of the logging industry in eastern Taiwan. The Exhibition Hall also displays the tradition and contemporary logging tools, equipment, a retired steam engine, log transportation train, and timber transport tracks etc.
The attraction sites in this area are the log yard, the old-fashion log transportation train ride, captivating mountain vistas, BBQ sites, campground, forest paths, and a grass-skiing. Behind the Exhibition Hall is the Shunfunshan (Mt Pine Air) which offers splendid view of Carp Lake environment.
