The best-viewing locations & time for bird-watching in Kenting:
September:
Red-tailed Shrike (Lanius cristatus) would bypass Kenting around September every year making Eluanbi Park the perfect place to bird-watch a variety of precious bird species.
October:
October (close to the National Day of Taiwan) is the best time for seeing Grey-faced Buzzard Eagles and Goshawk in Kenting. Manzhou Shanding Bridge (formally known as Lide Bridge) in Manzhou Town of Pingtung County offers an excellent place to spot these giant eagles in the evening, while in the morning Gray-faced Buzzard Eagles can be found in the Kenting National Park and Sheding Nature Park.
October – May:
Every year from October to May, visitors may find migratory birds inhabit around the area of Longluantan (Lake Longluan). These birds migrate to south of Taiwan to escape from the freezing cold weather in China, Japan and Siberia.
