Summer, from June to August, is probably Taiwan’s liveliest time for outdoor activities, though people often remark Taiwan has no critical differences in seasons. There are great things to experience and discover for one’s summer in Taiwan. Taiwan amusement parks each focuses on different thematic activities such as folk culture, architecture or recreation, though, they do share some things in common include fun rides and some aspect of local culture in endeavoring to build themselves into a kind of fantasyland that ensure visitors with the promise of fun and nice memories of their outing.

Summer is the great time to visit Taiwan amusement parks as there are discounts and promotions at most of the time to attract students who are off on summer vacation. The most popular Taiwan theme parks are Leofoo Village Theme Park in Guanxi Town of Hsinchu County, Window on China in Longtan Town of Taoyuan County, Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village in Yuchi Town of Nantou County, and Janfusun Fancyworld Theme Park in Gukeng Town of Yunlin County. Located in Bali District of New Taipei City, Formosa Fun Coast is a large-scaled water amusement park in northern Taiwan. The amusement park features two main parks: water and adventure. Each park is equipped with numerous instruments from abroad. Formosa Fun Coast is a popular site for all ages to experience fun water activities and adventurous equipments.

Taoyuan - Window on China

Located in Longtan Town of Taoyuan County, Taiwan, Window on China is one of Taiwan’s earliest theme parks. Established in 1984, the park is consisted of 3 areas, including Mini World, Water Park, and Amusement Park. The Mini World is divided into Mini Taiwan, Mini China, Mini Asia, Mini Europe and Mini America, where visitors may find scale models of famous buildings and developments of each country or region.

Hsinchu - Leofoo Village Theme Park

Located in Guanxi Town of Hsinchu County, Taiwan, Leofoo Village Theme Park is one of Taiwan’s most popular amusement parks. First established in 1994, the park features 4 areas, including African Safari, Wild West, South Pacific, and Arabian Kingdom.

Taichung - Yamay Recreation World

Located in Houli District of Taichung City, Yamay Recreation World has the first ever, large scaled outdoor artificial wave pool in the entire south-east Asia. The artificial wave pool creates waves up to 2.4 meters high. There is also the Chu Slide where 1800 liters of water rushes down at set intervals; there is the Beach Theater where exotic music and dances are performed; a 270 meter long river-like pool and kids’ area with five different water slides especially designed for kids.

Nantou - Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village

Located in Yichi Town of Nantou County, Taiwan, Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village is one of Taiwan’s first amusement parks opened in July 1986. With a total area of 62 hectares, adjacent to the world renowned Sun Moon Lake, the park is one of the most popular Taiwan theme parks for a variety of activities include aboriginal culture, fun rides, as well as cherry blossom festival and lavender festival in spring.

Yunlin - Janfusun Fancyworld Theme Park

Janfusun Fancyworld Theme Park is located in Taiwan’s famous tea and coffee town, Gukeng Town of Yunlin County. Opened in 1990 with an area about 60 hectares, Jianfusun is the home to a wide variety of land and water rides, a gigantic Ferris Wheel, and splendid live shows, offering a nice stop for visitors of all ages. Established by Jianfusun Fancyworld Corp., Janfusun Fancyworld houses all kinds of thrilling and fun rides. Sky Plaza is where visitors may find most of the thrilling rides, including an 88 meter tall Ferris wheel, and thrilling rides such as Diving Machine G5 and Insane Speed.

Kaohsiung E-DA World - E-DA Theme Park

Kaohsiung E-DA World, opened in 2010, is a leisure destination that encompasses upscale hotels of Crowne Plaza Kaohsiung E-DA World Hotel and E-DA Skylark Hotel, the E-DA Outlet Mall, E-DA City (real estate development) and I-Shou University. E-DA Theme Park is Taiwan’s first Aegean theme park, designed based on ancient Greek mythology and the image of Santorini Island. The park features more than 50 fun rides comprised in three major themed areas inspired by the Acropolis, Aegean Sea Village, and Trojan Castle.
