Hu-Tou Pei Scenic Area is located on the Hutou Mountain, only 15 km from Tainan City. It is the first and oldest reservoir in Taiwan. Hutou pond (Hutoupi) was named after the shape of the surrounding mountains which resembles the face of a ferocious tiger. The water surface area covers around 27 hectares. The reservoir was originally used for agriculture industry, irrigating over 500 hectares of farm land. Hiking routes are organized around the vast lake with camphor and Taiwan acacia along the way. The Tiger Moon Pavilion was built on the lake isle connecting to both banks of the lake with the Tiger Moon Suspension Bridge. Everything is designed corresponding with the natural scenery.

Hu Tou Pei Scenic Area is one of the oldest main attractions in Tainan. It was selected to be one of the eight natural wonders in Tainan. It was also complimented the most beautiful reservoir in Taiwan, one of Taiwan’s 12 Scenic Panoramas. Recreational and leisure facilities are fully equipped. Swimming pool, barbeque area, camping area, dining center, peninsula leisure area, suspension bridge, Tiger Moon Pavilion, lake view platform, restaurants and a youth activity center. It’s got everything you need for the whole weekend, all under the amazing natural scenery.

Hu Tou Pei Scenic Area is ecologically rich in animal and plants. It’s a great location for any outdoor activity that can be both educational and relaxing. Besides the facilities included in the scenic area, golf courses, strawberry garden, martyrs shrine and even horseback riding are available nearby. Hu Tou Pei Scenic Area is a very popular visit during the weekends.

Take Singnan Bus head for Hu Tou Pei
