Promthep Cape is a simple rocky hill with no immediate interest and it's located in the most Southern part of Phuket Island. You can have the gorgeous overlooks from Promthep Cape. Long time ago; Promthep Cape was a well-known feature for early sailors. In Thai the word "Prom" means Hindu God which symbolizes purity and "Thep" means "God." Thus, the local Phuket people referred to as, "God's Cape." There's a lighthouse situated in Promthep with a nice viewing platform. You can enjoy the wonderful views into the sea from Kanchanaphisek Lighthouse with the South coast of Phuket and the environment of the cape. You will also see an interesting nautical museum inside Kanchanaphisek Lighthouse. As well as a Buddhist alter with some of elephant statues next to the lighthouse. It's an unforgettable Phuket experience to see the sunset with the most popular viewpoint of Promthep Cape in Phuket. People should not miss the pretty spectacular sunset at Promthep Cape. You can buy some souvenirs such as silk shirts, hats, cotton shirts etc, from the venders in the car park area. When you are tired, just enjoy an iced coffee or some beverage in the coffee shop or restaurants at Promthep Cape.
