The AsiaWorld-Expo is one of the two major exhibition centers in Hong Kong along with the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Located in the northeast corner of Chek Kok Island, the AsiaWorld-Expo has a proximity to the Hong Kong International Airport.
Under the management of the AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited, the AsiaWorld-Expo is a HKD 2.35 billon project which covers a total area over 70,000sq.m. The AsiaWorld-Arena and AsiaWorld-Summit are the two main features of the AsiaWorld-Expo. The AsiaWorld-Arena is the biggest indoor entertainment arena of Hong Kong with a total of 13, 500 seats, and the AsiaWorld-Summit is the largest conference and event venue for large scale events from 700 up to 5,000 people.
The AsiaWorld-Expo was first opened to the public in year 2005, and has held numerous important exhibitions/events, including concerts of Backstreet Boys, X-Japan, Super Junior, Il Divo, Alicia Keys, Ayumi Hamasaki and many others. Large exhibitions/conferences, including ITU Telecom World 2006, Hong Kong Jewelry & Gem Fair, China Sourcing Fairs and many more.
