The fifth Taiwan International Balloon Fiesta will begin on June 27th. The Event has become very popular since the first fiesta in 2011 which had the rest of Taiwan following its footsteps. It is now one of the most anticipating events in Taiwan. The fiesta is scheduled with light shows, balloon ride experience, and balloon flying shows. The hot air balloon tour ride which started in 2013, has became a regular activity throughout the whole year starting from 2014. The ride is around 30-40 minute with a 360 view of Taitung’s finest mountain views.

News update 7/22/2015- here comes a great news! Taitung Government decided to run a “Lucky Draw’’. According to this year’s zodiac sign, goat, people who born in the year of goat will have the chance to take the hot air balloon ride with free of charge!! If you were born in the year of goat and age 12 years above, you will have the once in a lifetime chance to win the lottery. Lucky Draw is on the 20th and the 24th of July, 3rd and the 9th of August, at 04:30~05:00 in the morning and 16:30~17:00 in the afternoon. There will be 3 winning draws for a ride on the Airship and ten draws for second prizes. We welcome you all and please bring your personal ID to participate the Lucky Draw!!
P.S. There will be no holding prize in the Lucky Draw and if the Balloon Ride is cancelled due to the bad weather the prizes will change into our lovely presents.

The spectacular Fiesta offers all the visitors a mesmerizing East Rift Valley Scenic view. East Rift Valley is surrounded by high mountains, hills, terraces, and plains, providing an ideal location for hot air balloons. Luye Gaotai is also famed for its tea; the tea plantation just right down the hill of the valley. In addition, it is a popular spot for paragliding and camping. Taitung, the beautiful city in East Taiwan, is well-known for its uncontaminated natural beauties, distinctive landscape, and rich aboriginal culture.
