The 2018 Taiwan Hot Air Balloon Festival will take off on June 30 at Luye Gaotai , Taitung. This year, the festival will be extended an extra week to last a total of 45 days, offering travelers more shows and more featured balloons to enjoy. The spectacular hot air balloon rides offer all visitors mesmerizing East Rift Valley Scenic views. East Rift Valley is surrounded by high mountains, hills, terraces, and plains, providing an ideal location for hot air balloons.

This year, the 8th edition of the festival will feature balloons such as Christ the Redeemer, Noah's Ark, Stuart the Minion balloon, and the house from the film "Up." A total of 39 different shapes of hot air balloons will be present at this year's balloon festival at Luye Gaotai.

Besides hot air balloons, there will be eight light and music shows at various renowned Taitung attractions including Luye Gaotai, Sansiantai, Jhihben Hot Spring Area, Dapochih, The Aurora Garden, Zhi-Hang Air Base, and National Taitung University Library. The first grand opening show will start 19:00 at Luye Gaotai. Make sure you don’t miss it!
