The 2016 Tainan Salt &Sand Sculpture Art Festival starts on June 18th all the way to August 28th at Qigu Salt Mountain and Mashagou Coastal Recreation Area of Tainan, presenting both salt and sand sculptures. First held in 2012, the art festival is organized by Southwest Coast National Scenic Area Administration (SCNSA), Tainan City Government and Taiyen, to promote Tainan’s culture, history and attractions. The event has successfully attracting lots of people since it first launched. There will be professional and amateur sand and salt sculptors displaying 22 sand sculptures at Mashagou Coastal Recreation Area and many salt sculptures at Qigu Salt Mountain.

Directions:
To Mashagou Coastal Recreation Area
Take the train to Shanhua Railway Station, then take the Tainan City Bus Orange Route and get off at Jiali Stop, then take Blue 20 bus to Mashagou Coastal Recreation Area
To Qigu Salt Mountain
Take Xinnan Bus bound for Jiali from Xinyin Railway Station or Tainan Railway Station. From Jiali, take another Xinnan Bus bound for Qigu to Salt Mountain stop.
