Here is also famed of its two appealing seasons which are cherry blooms from March to April, and red maples from November to January. The Zhushan Lookout in the Alishan Forest Recreation Area would be a wonderful spot to enjoy the wild range of magnificent Taiwan maples. Especially during sunset, the flaming maples along the sea of clouds, as well as bird chirping make it a memorable place for Taiwan travel.

Take TRA train to Chiayi Railway Station, and then transfer to Alishan Railway Station/Fenchihu Scenic Area by taking Chiayi Bus. Chiayi Bus Station is located right next to the Chiayi Railway Station. For visitors who take THSR to Chiayi Station, please take the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) bus to TRA Chiayi Back Station, and then transfer to Alishan Railway Station/ Fenchihu Scenic Area by taking Chiayi Bus.
Yilan- Taipingshan Forest Recreation Area
Set in Tatung Village of Yilan County, Taipingshan Forest Recreation Area preserves splendid natural views and ecosystems. Also, because of its high altitude at about 1950 meters above sea level, it is immersed by mist all year round which is recognized as one of the 12 significant views of Taiwan. Unlike other maple scenic areas, you may discover purplish Acerpseudo-sieboldianum maples around March to July, while Loquidambar formosana Hance and Green Maples can be seen in November through December.
