Xinshe, located in Taichung Da Kenf Scenic Area, is notable for fruits, and flower and mushroom gardens. Xinshe Sea of Flower Festival is the most essential event in Xinshe held annually around the end of each year, welcoming numbers of visitors for the beautiful flowers and local agriculture products.

2013 Taichung Sea of Flowers Festival in Xinshe is held from 2013/11/09-2013/12/08. The total area of chamber spans about 30 hectares and divided into eight pavilions, bearing tons of vividly beautiful flowers like a seemingly endless panorama of colorful picturesque scene. The eight specially-themed exhibitions are Happy Farming Exhibition, Cinderella Exhibition, Amu Forest Exhibition, Happy Farming Villages Exhibition, Incredible Fern Exhibition, Healthy and Beautiful Farming, LOHAS Promoting Group and Colorful Taichung 2013 Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival all designed according to the rural district’s unique attributes. While you wander around the themed pavilion, you may also stop by the stands of local farming specialties and local delicacies to try out and sample the specials. In addition, there will be a full schedule of intimate performances on the first opening weekend. This event is the largest and best-known recreational agriculture event of its kind in central Taiwan. Besides, the weather of autumn in Taichung is cooler but still warm and sunny makes it the season for going outside. With all this, this late-autumn festival is a highly appealing event that will allure large number of visitors, especially families and cyclists.

If you plan to go to Sea of Flowers Festival, please be noted that traffic restrictions may apply to selected local streets and the parking will be limited in the venue. Visitors are highly encouraged to make transportation plan in advance to avoid traffic congestion. Also, Guest Shuttle Services are available on the weekend during the event. Taichung Transportation Department has planned 3 shuttle routes includes Taiyuan Parking Place, Fengyuan Train Station, Dongshi Riverside Park, which run every 15-30 minutes.

1. Take Fengyuan Bus No. 270, 271, 276, 277 at the front of Taichung Railway Station to Zhongxingling, Xinshe District -> 30 minute walk to Sea of flowers in Xinshe

2. Take Fengyuan Bus No. 91 at the front of Fenyuan Railway Station to Zhongxingling, Xinshe District -> 30 minute walk to Sea of flowers in Xinshe

3. Take shuttle bus at the front of Fenyuan Railway Station -> Sea of flowers in Xinshe (Only available on the weekend)
