Cilan Forest Recreation Area

Located at the cross road of No. 7A Provincial Route and Peichi-Yilan Sub-route on Tochang Village, Tatung Town, this wilderness recreation area is only 38 km from Yilan and Lotung Town. It is also on the way for tourists going to Taipingshan and Lishan.
This recreation area’s main attraction is the stairs-like nursery for Crytomeria trees. Inside the area, there are the President Chiang Kaik-shik’s Hall, flora and fauna viewing park, cherry and peaches blossom area, jungle trails, exercise area equipped with 14 exercise gears, Mini Tarzan Forest Playland, etc. The European style cottages and wooden cabins in the wilderness provide excellent accommodation for nature lovers. (Reservation needs to be made one week in advance.) Visitors can also enjoy the taste of the local cultivated product called “Monkey Head Mushroom”.

By car :
From Yilan Town, go on Tarzan Road and turn to No. 7 Provincial Route to Paitou Bridge.
Continue on No. 7A Provincial Route and you will reach the destination.
By bus :
Take the train or from Taipei North Main Station, take the Taichi Express Bus bound for Ilan, Lotung, Suao, Nan Fang-oa and alight at Yilan stop.
At Yilan, take the Taichi Express Bus bound for Lishan and Nanshan Village. Alight at Zhialan stop. There are 5 trips daily.
