After a successful domination in the first ever, the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship 2013 is once again being held at the Sunrise Golf & Country Club in Yangmei City of Taoyuan County, Taiwan. The grand event will be set to tee-off on Thursday, October 24th to Sunday, October 27th 2013, featuring 78 players competing in the four-day stroke play game for a total of USD 2 million prize purse.

All golf fans are welcomed to the course to see all the outstanding players compete on the same course throughout the game. For the 3rd straight year, Novotel Taipei Taoyuan International Airport is one of the tournament sponsors and suppliers, and has also been selected as one of the event official hotels for Medias and caddies. This year, the hotel had conducted Official LPGA Press Conference to introduce the golfers of the tournament. In order to invite more people to enjoy the fun of the golf, the hotel will hold a “Novotel Golf Challenge” from October 14th to October 27th. The first prize of Golf Challenge will be air ticket of Garuda Indonesia.

While joining the tournament, spectators are also invited to tour around the city during the free time. Taoyuan is a peaceful city and a popular tourist city among locals, and it is noted for its rich cultural and tourist sites, such as Cihu for marks of Chiang’s Family and Chiang Kai-Shek Mausoleum and Daxi Old Street for the reminiscent atmosphere and Hakka dishes and snacks. The area of Cihu Mausoleum is about 30 hectares surrounded by mountains with the mesmerizing Back Cihu Lake in the middle. The visitor permit is required for entering the lake which can be applied on-line at http://backcihu.tycg.gov.tw/Cihu/ (currently only available in Chinese). After 2-3 hours wandering around this tranquil and mysterious place, you may drop-by the well-known Daxi Old Street to savor the traditional delicacies in the Taiwan nostalgia atmosphere, including glutinous rice ball soup, tofu pudding, maltose, smoked bean curd and more. Some of the traditional folklore stores here offer some old-time fun and remains. With a nice location in northern Taiwan, Taoyuan is about a 50 minute ride or a 19-minutes by HSR to Taipei City for you to explore Taipei splenders without hustle and bustle.
