Fugang Harbour is very close to Taitung City ; this is where you take the ferry ride if you intend to visit Green Island or Lanyu. Same as the other harbours, every morning as soon as it reaches 10 o'clock, the ships would one by one return to the dock with basketfuls of seafood ready for sale. Fugang has many seafood restaurants where the freshest fish are at! Standing at the harbour, you may see different boats coming in and going out. If you have never seen a ship in real life, or a fisherman trying 2 capture its prey, then this is the right place to find out! Further out is the calm Pacific ocean ; Fugang Harbour is definitely the place to go. Fugang is not only the main fishing industrial point of the east coast, but also the major port for Green Island and Lanyu incomers. At 9am sharp there will be some public sales of newly caught fish as well as other seafood. You may even choose the fish yourself and then request a restaurant to immediately cook it for you.
