Yanping N. Rd. Sec. 3 Tourist Night Market
/ 陳皮梅
Located in Datong District, Yanping N. Rd. Sec. 3 Tourist Night Market is also called Daqiaotou Night Market due to the Taipei Bridge nearby. It covers the Yaping N. Rd. from Minchuang E. Rd. to Changji St. around 500 meters long. The shops and vendors locates on the two sides of the road, some of them had open over 30 years. The delicious food still attracts many to visit even though the lack of space and quite heavy traffic.
Taipei Bridge was a heavy traffic bridge connecting Taipei and Sanchong in the past. People gather in this place to grab quick meals, so the market began to expand. It’s a local night market with reasonable price. After the MRT Daqiaotou Station was built, the easy transportation has brought the night market more and more popular.
Local snack vendors are packed, serving snacks like glutinous rice, mochi, fried sausage, beef noodle, and steamed sandwich. Though it’s called a night market, but some vendors actually start pretty early. The Daqiaotou glutinous rice opens from 6am to 4pm, not very night market at all.
Every corner of Taipei is filled with surprises. Aside from Yanping N. Rd. Sec. 3 Tourist Night Market, the nearby Ninxia night Market and Dihua Street are also great locations to continue your visit. You can stop by the Taipei City God Temple and pray for a good relationship. Dadaocheng is where you can experience the old glory of Taipei City.
