Taoyuan City ─ Sanmin Bat Cave

Discovered in 1968, Sanmin Bat Cave is located in Fushin Town. The cave entrance is half circular shape and the inner chamber is a curved moon shape. It houses strange looking rocks. The ground gradually elevates from the inside and forms a gentle slope towards the outside like a stage. The spacious interior accommodates up to a thousand people. A naturally crafted cave with a water fall and stream strolls in front of the cave. The cave was a popular site, with crowds of tourist visiting so often the bats that once inhabit the cave little by little were not to be seen in the cave anymore. But the beautiful pond, stream, waterfall and the strange cave still provides a great visit. It’s a wonderful place to hike, camp, and barbeque. This area is now a popular picnic area for tourist touring along the North Cross Island Highway.

Exit at Taoyuan Highway Interchange onto No 4 Provincial Route
Switch onto No 7 Provincial Route proceed to Sanmin Bat Cave

From Highway no.1 (northbound)
Exit at Chungli Highway Interchange onto No 114 County Route
Switch onto No 4 Provincial Route then No 7 Provincial Route
Then proceed to Shanmin Bat Cave.

By Bus
At Taoyuan Main Bus Station
Take the Taoyuan Express Bus bound for Tahsi.
From Tahsi change to Taoyuan Express Bus bound for Fushin
And get off at Shanmin Bat Cave Stop
