Wulu Hot Springs are located on the mid mountain ridge at Wulu Gorge underneath the Tianlong Suspension Bridge. The springs here are low alkaline and contain carbonate, hydrogen-sodium, and fluoride elements. The water is clear, odorless, and the springs’ temperature is around 70 to 80 degree Celsius. When it was first discovered in the early days, it was relatively unknown due to its remoteness. Later, this place became one of the popular Taitung touring sites after the opening of the Southern Cross-Island Highway. One distinct feature of Wulu Hot Springs is that the water gushes out from the crevice in the mountain cliff of the steep and narrow Wulu Gorge. Nowadays, this place becomes a popular area to hold all types of cultural activities.
