World Game 2009 Main Stadium

The World Game Main Stadium is designed by Toyo Ito, a world-renowned Japanese architect. Besides the Kaohsiung Main Stadium, the Sociology building at National Taiwan University and Taichung Metropolitan Opera House are also designed by Ito. All the raw materials used in this stadium are made in Taiwan and are one hundred percent reusable. In addition, the building is eco-friendliness. The spiral steel girders and 8,844 solar panels on the roof can generate a seventy percent of its own power during the games, thus reducing 660 tons of annual carbon dioxide output. It is the first stadium which can generate 1.14 million kWh of electricity, and the first stadium which designed in open C-shape. It is also the first stadium in Taiwan that certified by the IAAF (the International Association of Athletics Federations.)
With the unique design, the World Game Main Stadium will become a new landmark in Kaohsiung.

1. Take Kaohsiung KRT-Red Line (高雄捷運紅線) to KRT R17 World Games Station (捷運世運站). From exit no. 1 of the station walk towards Zhonghai Road (中海路) to the World Game 2009 Main Stadium (世運主場館)
2. Take Kaohsiung KRT-Red Line (高雄捷運紅線) from either HSR Zuoying Station (高鐵左營站), Kaohsiung Main Station (高雄火車站)or KRT Kaohsiung International Airport Station (捷運小港機場站).
By bus:
1. Take KRT shuttle bus no. R53 (紅53) to World Game Main Stadium stop (世運主場館站).
2. Take bus no. 29, 218, 245 or 38North to Zuoying Armed Forces General Hospital stop (國軍左營醫院站). From there walk towards Junxiao Rd. (軍校路), and then make a left turn at Zhonghai Road (中海路). World Game Main Stadium (世運主場館站) is about 200m away after making a left turn at Zhonghai Road (中海路).
3. Take bus no. 6, 219, 301 or Zhonghua line (中華幹線) to KRT R17 World Games Station (捷運世運站). From exit no. 1 of the station walk towards Zhonghai Road (中海路) to the World Game 2009 Main Stadium (世運主場館)
3. Take Kaohsiung Bus (高雄客運) no. 221 (Fengshan鳳山-Mituo 彌陀) to Zuoying Armed Forces General Hospital stop (國軍左營醫院站). From there walk towards Junxiao Rd. (軍校路), and then make a left turn at Zhonghai Road (中海路). World Game Main Stadium (世運主場館站) is about 200m away after making a left turn at Zhonghai Road (中海路).
4. From HSR Zuoying Station (高鐵左營站): Take bus no. 301 from HSR Zuoying Station (高鐵左營站) to KRT R17 World Games Station (捷運世運站). From exit no. 1 of the station walk towards Zhonghai Road (中海路) to the World Game 2009 Main Stadium (世運主場館)
5. From Kaohsiung Train Station (高雄火車站): Take bus no. 218 or 245 to Zuoying Armed Forces General Hospital stop (國軍左營醫院站). From there walk towards Junxiao Rd. (軍校路), and then make a left turn at Zhonghai Road (中海路). World Game Main Stadium (世運主場館站) is about 200m away after making a left turn at Zhonghai Road (中海路).
