Located at the junction of Gongliao District of New Taipei City and Toucheng Town of Yilan County, Chaolin Ancient Trail
is about 8.5 kilometer-long. Chaoli Ancient Trail is part of Danlan Ancient Trail that connected Wanhua of Taipei City
to Yilan during the Qing Dynasty, and is now one of the few remaining ancient trails of Taiwan. Chaolin Ancient Trail is
named after its location at the junction of New Taipei City and Yilan County and solely filled by silvergrass in Autumn
and ginger lily in summer, making it the most popular trail of Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area.
