Built in 1869, Tamsui Customs Wharf is located near Fort San Domingo, offering an excellent location and was one of the most important commercial ports in Taiwan. Today, the park still retains many of its original buildings built in Qing Dynasty and the Japanese Colonial Period, including the wharf, western-style building, warehouses, and other architectural relics. The wharf was designated in 2000 by New Taipei City as a heritage site and was transformed into a cultural park.
There are exhibitions introducing the history of Tamsui in the park for guests to visit. The wharf is accessible within walking distance north west from MRT Tamsui Station.
