Guanziling in Tainan is one of the four major hot spring locations in Taiwan along with Yangminshan, Beitou, and Sihjhongsi. The hot spring was discovered after the Baihe Earthquake. The hot spring contains abundant mineral substances and earth forming a dark grey color that’s why it is sometimes called Black Spring or Mud Spring. It is one of the most popular tourist visits in Southern Taiwan for local and foreign travelers.

The Hongyeh Park (Red Leaf Park) or called Guanziling Park is located in Baihe near Guanziling Hot Spring. A park with hills of maples, turning red during autumn, it is both a wonderful scenic area and a natural observation site. It is now a natural reserve with hiking routes very popular during the fall when thousands of the maples and poinsettias turn red. The Hongyeh Park is always in the itinerary while visiting Guanziling Hot Spring of most travelers, the mountain in red is a colorful artistic attraction too good to miss out on.

Other visits near The Hongyeh Park are recommended like the Water and Fire Cave, a natural phenomenon where fire is burning on water and Biyun Temple with the stone sculpted park all offering gorgeous mountain sceneries. All of the above attractions are popular visits after the soothing hot spring.
