It’s been 104 years since the Republic of China was founded, the Double Tenth Day, also known as the Taiwan National Day. Taichung has been selected to host of the 2014 Taiwan National Day Events on 10/10. A series of scheduled events will be hold in the center Taiwan, come and join the celebrations.

National Day of the Republic of China commemorates the start of the Wuchang Uprising of October 10, 1911, which led to the end of the Qing Dynasty in China and establishment of the Republic of China on January 1, 1912. After the Chinese Civil War, the Government of the Republic of China relocated to Taiwan in 1949. The National Day is now mainly celebrated in Taiwan, but it is also celebrated by some Overseas Chinese.

As a tradition, routines are planned in front of the Presidential Office Building. The routine ceremony begins with the raising of the flag, national anthem followed by a military parade. Besides the tradition ceremony, different county are selected each year to hold the actual celebration such as fireworks and series of performances by celebrities. Combining with local character, the National Day is now celebrated with different features and themes around Taiwan each year. This year, a three days of events to celebrate National Day is scheduled in Taichung including the grand firework event and concert. So book your hotel in Taichung and join the celebration.
