Situated in Taichung County, Xinshe is a township lies about 20 km northeast of Taichung City. It is notable for the Summit Resort, which is a unique castle in European style, plus various mushroom gardens. This area is also wealthy in fruits like custard apples, grape, loquats, peaches, and pear.
The 2010 Sea of Flowers in Xinshe Festival will be held from October 16th to November 7th. You may see endless fields and sea of flowers of dynamic colors. The pink sea is comprised of garden cosmos; the yellow sea is comprised of yellow cosmos and sunflowers; the white sea is comprised of white cosmos.
Moreover, the Theme Area has interesting local garden decor like animal-shaped tree and beautiful jardinières plus various colorful flowers, including Dianthus, Henna, Mealy Sage, Medallion Flower, Mini Viola, Ramtilla, Scarlet Sage, Spider Flower, Touch-me-not, and Wax Begonias for you to appreciate.
The Sea of Flowers in Xinshe Festival has been enlarged to cover the areas of Xinshe, Dongshi, Shigang, Heping, and Taiping. There will be shuttles onsite for you to reach the flower fields as well as nearby attractions such as the GaoMei Wetland, Guguan Hot Spring, Houfeng Bicycle Path, Lavender Cottage, Lover Wood Bridge, and Xinshe Castle. You may enjoy the beautiful scenery, experience the local culture, try the delicious Hakka cuisines and local snacks, and also taste the fresh and juicy fruits all in one trip!
If you are interested in coming, you may take Fongyuan Bus at the front of Taichung Railway Station to Xinshe.
