The North Dawu Mountain (Beidawu Mountain) is one of the 5 dominant mountains in Taiwan. Located at the south of central mountain terrain, and it is at 3092 meters of altitude (the only peak of mountain reach over 3000 meters in southern Taiwan), and is the sacred range for the Taiwan aborigines Rukai Tribe and Paiwan Tribe to settled in here.

In the past, it took 2 days to hike in Beidawu Mountain, but the large landslide caused by Typhoon Morakot in 2009 block the access to the original trailhead. The new trailhead is pretty steep, but offers clear views in every direction. It’s also popular spot for bird watching and the sea of cloud. You may find the entrance by going on the left industrial lane next to Taiwu Primary School. April to November is the best mountain hiking season, although recommended forbidden if rainy.
