Chang Gu World Trade Center

Chang Gu World Trade Center is a fifty-storey skyscraper in Sanmin District of Kaohsiung. The building was designed by C.Y. Lee & Partners and was completed in 1992; the establishment of the architecture spent five billion Taiwan dollars. Its design is a combination of modern and traditional Chinese Clock Tower. The unique shape represents a meaning of getting higher, richer, and better. The aerial view of the building is in a tai chi bagua shape without sharp corners. The shape of the corner can reduce damages caused by the strong winds and earthquakes.

The center contains restaurants, exhibition halls, gallery rooms, conference rooms, and entertainment facilities. There are four conference rooms on the 22nd floor with a total capacity of thirty to three hundred people. The center is appropriate for conferences, courses, meetings, and seminars.

This two hundred and twenty-two meters tall building was once the highest building in Taiwan before the establishment of Kaohsiung Asia Plaza and Taipei 101. Even though it is no longer the highest building in Taiwan, it is still the landmark of Northern Kaohsiung. Moreover, it is still an important spot for world trading business.
