2016 Calla Lily Festival in Yangmingshan

The 2016 Calla Lily Festival is taking place at Yangminshan Zhuzihu area from March 18th to April 17th. With the theme “Aesop's Fables” this year, there will be a series of floral decorations base on the stories as well as fields of calla lilies for visitors to enjoy.

This year, the month-long 2016 Yangmingshan Calla Lily Festival will be running from March 18th through April 17th at Zhuzihu area of Yangmingshan, Taipei. Although 2016 Yangmingshan Calla Lily Festival is scheduled to end on the 17th of April, there will still be flowers to view until May. For those who missed the Yangmingshan Flower Festival, there’s no need to worry as it’s the perfect time of viewing calla lily at Yangminshan right now.
The theme of this year’s festival is “Aesop's Fables.” The organizers of the event will work with local farmers to create famous scenes and characters from the well-known Aesop's Fables. You will no doubt be charmed by the story-like surroundings at this year’s festival. There will be floral decorations base on famous stories like “The Hare and the Tortoise”, “The Boy who Cried Wolf” and many others. There will also be small concerts in some of the farms during the festival, offering delightful music while visitors appreciating flowers. For visitors who want to know more about Zhuzihu area, guided tours for Zhuzihu’ history and ecology will take place 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. every weekend and holidays during the festival.

Anticipating large amount of travelers at Zhuzihu during weekends and holidays, the city government will be implementing a series of traffic control measures on weekends and holidays between February 27th and April 17th. Travelers are suggested to take public transportation to Zhuzihu to avoid possible traffic congestions along the way. Here are some public transportation suggestions to reach to Zhuzihu area:
Transfer from MRT stations:
1. From MRT Jiantan Station: Buses 109, 111, 126, and 127 stops at Yangmingshan Second Parking Lot. From here, visitors can take buses 128, 129, S8, S9, and 131 to Zhuzihu.
2. From MRT Beitou Station: Take buses 129 or S9 to travel directly to Zhuzihu.
3. From MRT Shipai Station: Take buses 128 or S8 to travel directly to Zhuzihu.
4. From MRT Taipei Main Station:
(1) Take Bus 126 (Flower Festival Shulttle) to the Yangmingshan Second Parking Lot. Transfer to buses 128, 129, S8, S9, or 131 to Zhuzihu.
(2) Take 260 (limited or Flower Clock Line) to Yangmingshan Terminal and transfer to buses 128, 129, or 131 for Zhuzihu.
Taking the bus directly:
1. From Public Insurance Building on Gongyuan Road: Take “Taipei – Jinshan Line” directly to Zhuzihu.
2. From the Flower Clock Area and Second Parking Lot: Take 128, 129, S8, S9, or 131 to Zhuzihu.
