Hohaiyan Gongliao Rock Festival
International Hohaiyan Rock Festival is an annual five-day music concert held at Fulong Beach has been ongoing for 15 years. This year, this one of the three major music festivals will kick off on 2014/07/9 till 2014/07/13, welcomes the public to rock ‘n’ roll on the beach with free admission. Hohaiyan Rock Festival is also known as Gongliao Ocean Concert and Ocean Concert. The term “Hohaiyan”, meaning shout to the ocean, is derived from Taiwan Amis aboriginal language, while the Amis folk song “Taibalang” is also chose for the theme song of the event by the organizers. This year’s event will have five themes, one for each day; Come Back Stage, Ho-High ASIA, Taiwan Rock n’ Roll Cheer on, Ho-Hai-Yan Independent Music Awards, and We Are The World, Fun Rock n’ Roll.
The concept of the festival is to promote the creation of local music and art. Young artists with their own styles and creative music are encouraged to perform on the stage. The participants of the Hohaiyan Rock Festival include famous music bands and singers, as well as many underground music bands. The creative and spontaneous energy of the performances has made this a much-loved event among the young people.

The festival is regarded as an important international rock event in northern Taiwan, the music and camping festival’s program features music, beach and educational elements. There will be many food stalls providing fresh seafood and snacks, as well as the festival offers a competitive stage for a friendly “battle of the bands” where visitors can enjoy solo and independent acts from new comers of the music industry.

How to get to Ho-hai-yan Rock Festival:
By Train:
1. From Taipei Main Station: Take train to Fulong Railway Station
2. Take Train from Taipei Main Station to Ruifang Station -> Transfer to Taiwan Tourist Shuttle- Gold Fulong -> Get off at Fulong Visitor Center
By Bus:
1. From Taipei East Bus Station: Take Guo-Guang Bus-Yilan route and get off at Fulong Stop
2. Take Keelung Bus No. 791 from Keelung Station bounds for Fulong -> Get off at Fulong stop
Driving directions:
National Highway No.1-> Exit Badu interchange -> Transfer to Province Highway No.62 ->Transfer to Province Highway No.2 -> exit Fulong Beach
