Tseng Wen Reservoir is the largest reservoir in Taiwan located in Liutengtan gorge between Chiayi country and Tainan country. It is the most important water conservancy facility for Chianan plain. The dam is 400 meters in width and 133 meters in height. It was expanded from the former Poowoo Shantou Reservoir due to its original limited storage capacity.
Since Alishan had became a popular scenery spot, Tseng Wen Reservoir had became popular too. Tseng Wen Dam area’s spectacular landscape is the most popular sight for visitors. The breathtaking lake and mountain views attract about 300 thousands of people to come every year. Also, visitors can get to the top of the dam to appreciate the scenic view by the hiking path on the left.
Dongkou camping area is located by number three Tseng Wen River. There are visitor services center, meeting room, camping area, and barbecue area. The white, contemporary design Youth Activities Center can be found at east of the reservoir. Basic facilities such as basketball courts, swimming pools are available. In addition, there are three camp sites and outdoor exercise equipments in the vicinities.

Take train to Tainan Train Station (台南火車站). From there, take Xinnan Bus (興南客運) bound for Tseng Wen Reservoir (曾文水庫).
