The printing factory was founded on March, 1949, original named the Print Shop of Taiwan Province Secretary Office. It was later organized under the Ministry of Finance. Over 60 years of service in printing papers, receipts, lottery, magazines, classified documents, and bonds for the government institutions, Taiwan Printing Discovery Center is now open to the public along with the fascinating history behind it. It is the first print shop turned into tourism factory with fun facts and historical stories preserved from the time in service. It’s a wonderful experience for the whole family.

Taiwan Printing Discovery Center required reservation before visits. With guided tours, it takes you through the age of printing history such as the inventor types of printing throughout the years, movable type printing, existing oldest print plate and the first book ever printed in Europe. The receipts we use today in Taiwan are still under production in the center. The invention and the history of receipts are being introduced, the whole production line is open to the public in action, but the action only takes place in weekdays. Also, interacting process for kids to experience unorthodox printed art piece, the art pieces are created with special materials under certain circumstances the picture will change. Introducing offset printing, which is made bearing massive printing mission, the offset printing device rolls every day the moment plugged in for 20 years nonstop. It is now retired in the center stop by so remember to go check it out. A DIY Class is available, where you can make your own printing souvenir on the spot by using ancient 1453 techniques. The make your own souvenirs include books, lanterns, paintings and clocks. Creative Gift Shop, with unique gifts and souvenirs design creatively and local products are in stock, pick up your favorite things here. And an ecological pond recreational area is located outside where you can get a fresh air and stroll around.
