Faubourg Saint-Honoré

The rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré is known as being one of the most fashionable streets in the world. Renowned Haute Couture stores can be found here in the 8th arrondissement. The roots of the popularity come from the presence of virtually every major global fashion house and several boutiques selling ready-to-wear designer outfits. Some of the better-known emporiums of Haute Couture and jewelry here include Cartier, Celine, Christian Dior, Chanel, Chaumet, Christian Lacroix, and Van Cleef & Arpels.

Department Stores

Paris also has a number of department stores. The most well-known are the two most famous rivals, Galeries Lafayette and Printemps. They located side-by-side on the monumental boulevard Haussmann and both are sources of high-quality merchandise. Galeries Lafayette has always been a trend-setter in the Parisian fashion world. Further, the two department stores are not only shopping centers, but sightseeing attractions as well. Their splendid architecture attracts many tourists each year.

Flea Markets

Flea markets are another group of shopping destinations. There are three famous flea markets in Paris, and one of them is the Saint-Ouen Flea Market (Marché aux Puces de St-Ouen). One can find many treasures here. Antique hunters and collectors will be fulfilled as they browse through jewelry, furniture, posters, books, glassware, and old dolls and toys. However, since antiques and furniture are not convenient for travelers to fly with, you might not be able bring home some of the flea market products.

One can spend days and weeks shopping in Paris, the shopping heaven. There are many other locations for shopping throughout Paris, and they are yours to explore.
