Yangminshan, Wulai, and Beitou are the three major hot spring locations in Taipei City. Recognized for its hot springs, historical sites, and lush green environment, this year the celebration takes place in Beitou. Beitou is one of the most popular hot spring getaways in Northern Taiwan. Beitou area was first settled by the Ketagalan native tribe, with major hot spring features later established by the Japanese. It has now prospered into a hot spring attraction as time progressed. There are three types of hot springs in Beitou according to locations: the white Sulfur Spring (copperas) in Hushan Village Hot Spring and XinYi Road Hot Spring, the green sulfur spring (sulfate) in Geothermal Valley, and the iron sulfur spring (carbonate) in Hushan Village Hot Spring, Longfeng Hot Spring, and Fenghuang Hot Spring.
