Located in southern Taiwan, Kaohsiung is noted as a harbor city with year-round sun and a lively maritime culture with ports and marinas. The well-developed fishing, shipping, and boat building industries make Kaohsiung City a true city of the sea.

To introduce the maritime culture of Kaohsiung, the Marine Bureau of the Kaohsiung City Government has planned a series of events and the Maritime Expo and Yacht Show will be held on August 6 through August 9, 2010 at wharf no. 1 to 15 of the Glory Pier plus wharf no. 11 of the Love Pier. A wide array of luxury yachts, naval ships include Lafayette class frigate, Jinjiang class coastal patrol craft, and Yonghe class mine hunter, Coast Guard Administration boasts and many others will be displayed at the wharf-sides.

Visitors may enjoy a 30min cruise ride to the Chichin Harbor and visit the YM Museum of Marine Exploration plus the special exhibition of rare shells of the world. In addition, a cruise ride across Kaohsiung City to Kaohsiung County; Love Pier to Kozailiao Harbor will enrich your Kaohsiung travel. Nevertheless, do not forget to taste the fresh seafood nearby!
