(Chiayi) Alishan Train Has Resumed Service– Zhushan & Sacred Tree Routes!

Alishan is one of Taiwan’s most significant tourist destinations for friendly weathers, precious ecologies, and enriched aboriginal cultures, as well as the Alishan railway- one of the three remaining mountain railways in the world.

Due to wrath of typhoon Morakot last year, Alishan train was temporarily out of service. After months of restorations, Alishan train has resumed service on 2010/06/19 to provide you a memorable Alishan travel. Visitors may now once again enjoy train rides to Zhushan Station for beautiful cherry blossoms and forest baths, and Sacred Tree Station for fabulous sceneries surrounded by romantic mist.

Zhushan and Sacred Tree railway routes are two important forest routes of Alishan railway. Although the complete Alishan route won’t be fully restored until 2011, visitors do not have to take a 40-min walk to Zhushan and Sacred Tree anymore. With the train ride, visitors may explore the precious beauties and ecosystems along the train ride.
