Earth Day Report! Orange Hotel-Ximen was honored International STEP Certification. It's a success in earth friendly as well as providing the best accommodation for the guests in Taipei.

2015, a day before the Earth Day, Orange Hotel-Ximen has earned Second Party (Bronze) STEP ECO-Certification. Sustainable Travel International Taiwan indicates the positive sustaining attitude which Forte Hotel Group is promoting indentifies globally. It is a role model of the hotels in Taiwan of this generation.
The Sustainable Tourism Education Program, or called STEP, is a rigorous sustainability assessment that monitors business’s impacts and resource consumption under three measurements (environment, social, and economic factors). Administered by the non-profit leader in sustainable tourism development, Sustainable Travel International (STI), STEP is considered the leading international eco-certification program for travel and tourism industry, and one of the first to be fully accredited by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
After longstanding commitment to sustainable operations, two years of assessing process with STEP, Forte Hotel Group earned the prestigious STEP eco-certification label in April, 2015.

“Hardware procurement is the easiest way, all you need is put in money. But long term commitment on the software takes effort and dedication.” Forte hotel Group did just that. Providing the employees using bikes and public transportation is one of the great changes in devoting in green industry.
Forte Chairman Liao played an important role in receiving the label. As a professional architect, promoting the local hotels internationally was often his main objective. Orange Hotel-Ximen was his experimental subject. Finding the center of modern fad and traditional management, Orange Hotel-Ximen successfully became an exquisite, sustaining hotel.
Orange Hotel-Ximen is remodeled from an old building. The hardware designs are used with Cradle to Cradle environmental friendly materials. The carpets, the wood furniture even the metals are all environmental friendly as well as power saving facilities.

The hotel highest priority is using environmental friendly products. The tissue papers are the certified products from Forest Stewardship Council. The toiletries are from the local organic factory. The restaurant uses only the freshest local supply.
In service, Orange Hotel-Ximen also put in effort in saving energy and cutting down disposal products. Disposal products like razor, shower cap, and tooth brush are provided at the front desk only for the guests in need. Shampoo and shower lotion are provided in large refillable bottles. The hotel does not provide plastic bottled water but water bottle for guest to use it on the water dispenser in the hall.
Orange Hotel-Ximen is located in the rich cultural Ximending. Graffiti artwork s can be seen everywhere in the hotel. Like the hall way to the restaurant from the front door, is painted with unique style on the walls, promoting the art of Taiwan little by little.
Statistic is shown that the income of the tourism, only 5% remains in the local economy. Raising the 5% is the most important matter. Orange Hotel-Ximen dedicated in the environmental friendly methods and promoting the local related industry is a notable success, a model for other hotels to follow.
