Dahu Strawberry Picking Fun

The Strawberry harvest season is here. Dahu Township is one of the biggest strawberry production places in Taiwan, and it is also known as the “capital of strawberry.” The strawberry harvest season is also the season of Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year, and Valentine’s Day. The tasted of the sweetness of these strawberries make your heart even sweeter during the holiday seasons.

Tourist strawberry farms are open everywhere in Dahu during the harvest season, from main roads to corner of the street, including Provincial Highway 3. But Dahu has more than fresh fruits to offer. Dahu Strawberry Cultural Center, also known as the Dahu Winery, featuring a wide variety of strawberry made products from hot food such as strawberry sausage, BBQ with strawberry sauce, strawberry ice cream, snacks, and juice to cosmetics, soap and shampoo. You can enjoy of pick your own strawberries while try all kinds of strawberry cuisine, sweet treats and use all the strawberry products from head to toe.
Here are more than strawberry picking in Dahu. If you are here for your winter trip, you can also visit a hot springs here such as Taian Hot Spring, and Hushan Hot Spring. The spring water here is Sodium Bicarbonate, contains abundant minerals around 47 degrees Celsius. Researches find the spring water is effective in soothing joints, neural, digestion and skin.

After a half day of strawberry picking trip, you can also drop by Chingan Old Street a.k.a Chingan Bean Curd Street. This is a popular tourist spot, just like its name (Bean Curd Street) the tourists may savor bean curd (tofu) served in different flavors. As Chingan Village is resided mostly by the Atayal indigenous and Hakka people, one may also find a wide array of Hakka cuisines and aboriginal specials other than bean curd dishes.
