Fulong International Sand Sculpture Art Festival – Glory of Golden Sand

The 2016 Fulong International Sand Sculpture Art Festival starts from May 7 to July 10 at Fulong Beach, New Taipei City. With 24 sand sculptors from 13 countries presenting their works, the festival is going to display a total of 80 amazing sand sculptures.

The Glory of Golden Sand, 2016 Fulong International Sand Sculpture Art Festival, starts from May 7 to July 10 at Fulong Beach, New Taipei City. This year, 24 talented sand sculptors from 13 countries, including USA, Canada, the Netherlands, France, Portugal, Lietuva, Latvia, Russia, the Czech Republic, Singapore, South Korea, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, are invited to take part in this festive event, presenting 80 fascinating sand sculptures. There will be three zones: Themed Display zone, International Competition zone and Domestic Competition zone, displaying sculptures of representative work in various fields, such as architecture, painting, history and culture, freestyle artworks with 16 international sand sculptors and 4 local artists, and sculptures with the theme “Taiwan’s Bests” by local artists respectively.

It has been nine years since the first Fulong International Sand Sculpture Festival in 2008. The festival is to promote sand sculpture art in Taiwan and yield a stage for sand sculptors. There have been more and more people taking part in the event, more than 300,000 visitors joined the festival in 2015 alone. This year, the Fulong International Sand Sculpture Art Festival will still be jointly held by the Administration and the Fullon Hotels & Resorts like in the past years hope to attract even more people with more innovative ideas.

The Front Row Seat to the Festival

Nearby Fulong Beach, Fullon Hotel Fulong has grand open recently and offers the front row seats to admire the sand art. Activities and events are offered on the spot for guest to participate like the close-up examination while the artist performs and even your own sculpturing experience. The hotel even provides equipment packs which will get you ready for some sand fun right away. In addition to the convenience of enjoying the festival, guests can experience the "chloride hydrogen carbonate spring" which has been certified by Japan Spa Association and New Taipei City Government. The spring water forms a thin membrane that helps the skin moisturizing, and can relieve one’s stress and fatigue after participating the event.

Admission:
1. Adult: TWD 100
2. Group: TWD 90 per person for any group of 20 members or more.
3. Priority: TWD 80 for students or those who are 65 years old or more.
4. Children: For Children 6 years of age or younger, the fare is TWD 10 (as visitor insurance).
5. Free Admission for physically/mentally challenged visitors, with one accompanying individual. Please present an ID to enjoy this offer.

By train:
Take a train to Fulong. From the train station, follow road signs to reach the festival site.
By bus:
Take 1811 Kuo-Kuang Bus (Taipei – Luodong), 791 Keelung Bus (Guo Jian Xing Cheng – Fulong), or 856 Taiwan Tourist Shuttle (Ruifang – Fulong). Get off at Fulong. Follow signs along the roads to get to the festival site.
