Interested in a surf holiday? It’s only days away from the start of the Taiwan Open of Surfing in Jinzun Harbor, Taitung. Starting on November 25th, all the way to November 29th, Taitung county Government presents this annual four-day international event to everyone.

Located on the southwest Pacific and surrounded by sea, Taiwan is both geographically and climatically suitable for surfing. Although it had been only a few years that Taiwan started to host the Taiwan Open of Surfing, the number of participant increases rapidly. The size and shape of the waves in Taitung make it a perfect spot to surf, especially during the northeast monsoon blowing autumn and winter contributes to the wave potentials in Donghe and Jinzun area.
Due to all the perfect conditions, Taitung is certified as the latest international surfing competition venues in Asia by the Asian Surfing Championship (ASC). It’s the only venue for international surfing tournaments in Taiwan, which provides an opportunity for surfers all over the world to get to know more of the beautiful east coast of Taiwan.
This is the fifth year of Taitung hosting Taiwan Open. Throughout these years, Taitung county Government has successfully attracted more and more surfers coming to Taitung, especially the young generation.
